As CPO, Steve Canter brings energy and enthusiasm to all that he does. He manages a variety of aspects of the Sweenor Builders workforce. Steve leads recruiting and employee retention efforts, evaluates performance, and provides accountability, and works with Site Supervisors to ensure our workforce is using safety best practices on all job-sites. He serves as another layer of leadership in the organization and makes finding solutions his top priority.

Steve leads the Sweenor University initiative. The program helps to up-skill our current team members and to bring in new apprentices each year with the hope of adding them to the team full time. Prior to arriving at Sweenor Builders, Steve spent 7 years in a variety of roles in the software industry.

Steve is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he played football for the Hokies. Following his playing career, he spent 12 years on the sideline as a football coach.
