Carpenter

Sweenor Builders is always looking for skilled, detail-oriented carpenters to join our award-winning team. CNC Operator – High-End Custom Cabinetry Shop

Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Hourly Rate – Based on experience
Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Sweenor Builders is a premier custom cabinetry shop specializing in luxury residential and architectural millwork projects. With a reputation for excellence and innovation, we combine traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology to deliver exceptional quality to our clients. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Operator to join our team of artisans and technicians.

As a CNC Operator, you will be a key player in turning high-end designs into reality. You’ll be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to fabricate components for bespoke cabinetry and millwork with an emphasis on precision and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Set up and operate CNC routers for custom cabinetry components
● Interpret and execute cut lists, shop drawings, and digital files (e.g., DXF, CAD, Cabinet Vision)
● Maintain high levels of accuracy and finish quality in all machined
● Perform quality checks to ensure all parts meet design specifications
● Conduct basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed
● Work closely with designers and shop floor team to meet production goals
● Keep a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols

QUALIFICATIONS
● 2+ years of experience operating CNC routers in a woodworking or cabinetmaking environment
● Familiarity with CNC software (Moziak or something similar)
● Strong understanding of woodworking materials, joinery, and tolerances
● Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and cut sheets
● Excellent attention to detail, craftsmanship, and finish quality
● Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
● Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
● High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or related training is a plus)

Project Manager

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the construction of luxury custom homes. This role requires deep residential building knowledge, strong leadership, and a client-focused mindset. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Lead all phases of custom home construction, from groundbreaking to completion, for projects ranging from $1M to $10M+
● Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, architects, engineers, designers, and subcontractors
● Develop and manage detailed project schedules and ensure milestones are met
● Coordinate permitting, inspections, and compliance with all local, state, and coastal regulations (including CRMC)
● Manage project budgets, purchase orders, and change orders, ensuring accurate cost tracking and forecasting
● Oversee subcontractor and supplier performance, ensuring work meets luxury standards
● Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and job site safety
● Facilitate problem-solving to maintain project momentum and client satisfaction
● Provide weekly updates to clients and internal stakeholders, including progress reports and schedule changes
● Maintain detailed project documentation, logs, and communication records

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Minimum 5–7 years of experience in residential construction project management, preferably in high-end custom home building
● Deep knowledge of coastal construction practices and permitting in Rhode Island
● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex builds simultaneously
● Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
● Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore, CoConstruct)
● Skilled in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans
● Familiarity with sustainable building practices and modern home technologies a plus
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent field experience)
● OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
● Rhode Island Contractor’s Registration (or familiarity with requirements)
