Caswell Cottages
Focused on the re-urbanization of Narragansett’s Pier neighborhood, our team re-imagined four declining cottage properties. Demolition proved inevitable, so we built new small but luxurious summer homes in their place, re-capturing the beach-side ambiance and historic character for which the neighborhood is known. The in-fill process, building on the previously built-on sites, proved complex as the new homes were designed to be larger than the structures they replaced. Each new 2,300-square-foot cottage has an open first floor plan, and four bedrooms, plus a two-car garage on a compact 5,000- to 6,000-square-foot lot. The project was distinguished with an award for new construction in a historic district by the Narragansett Historic District Commission in 2019.
