Lorine Foley

Senior Architectural Designer

As Senior Architectural Designer at Sweenor Builders, Lorine brings each client’s vision to life by creating thoughtful, functional home plans tailored to their lifestyle and the unique characteristics of their site. She expertly balances the technical requirements of permitting with the deeply personal nature of residential design, always with a focus on layout as the foundation of great architecture.

Lorine’s journey into design began at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she studied Interior Architecture. Since then, she has cultivated a diverse background, including experience as an interior designer developing kitchen and furniture layouts. She advanced into architecture in 2002 and has designed many homes in coastal Southern RI. Lorine joined Sweenor Builders in 2016, drawn by the opportunity to work closely with homeowners and collaborate with a team that shares her passion for excellence from concept to completion.

Her portfolio includes standout projects such as the Modern Farmhouse and the Ninigret Pond Haven —homes that reflect her dedication to creating spaces that support daily life and lasting memories. Lorine is Revit certified, a member of AIBD, and continues to draw inspiration from the challenge of transforming ideas into homes.

What sets Lorine apart is her belief that great design begins with listening. She invests time in understanding what matters most to her clients and crafts spaces that feel personal, practical, and filled with possibility.

Outside of work, Lorine embraces nature and creativity. She lives on a farm with horses and goats, hikes Rhode Island’s many scenic trails, and surrounds herself with fresh floral arrangements. A true maker at heart, she enjoys sketching, painting, sewing, and giving handmade gifts.

For Lorine, design isn’t just a career—it’s her purpose. She finds joy each day in creating beautiful, functional homes that enhance people’s lives for years to come.
