THIS OLD HOUSE®

RANCH TRANSFORMATION, MISQUAMICUT

Photography by Anthony Tieuli

In a fourth collaboration with This Old House®, Sweenor Builders is pleased to have completed the significant renovation of this classic shingled ranch in Westerly, Rhode Island.

Originally built in 1949, the 2,000-square-foot classic ranch style home was transformed into a Dutch Colonial. We added a second floor and 1,000 square feet of additional space, plus plenty of modern amenities to meet the needs of a young family. A slight bump out in the back of the house helps to increase the size of the kitchen and dining room, and open the floor plan.  The home now also has a new master suite, bedrooms for two children, and a spacious guest bedroom, home office and laundry room.

Sweenor Builders provided Design/Build services on the project and Kristen Martone, Sweenor’s in-house designer led Interior Design. Progress of the project was chronicled during the 2019/2020 season of the Emmy Award-winning TV series This Old House on PBS, and you can also track more details of the construction by following #TOHWesterly on social.
